Virtuoso Video Diary: Knowledge Booster Training Bytes – Part 12 - Using Quview and Connectivity Checker in Quantus

2 Dec 2021 • 5 minute read

Another six months have passed since we posted our last blog on Layout Verification. We are now happy to introduce some new videos around this topic especially around the next generation parasitic extraction solution from Cadence –Quantus Extraction Solution.

Quantus Geometry Viewer (Quview) is a tool used to view various geometries generated by Quantus for debugging purposes. Quview does 3D rendering, planar views of the 3D geometry, design comparison, and validation of manufacturing effects. In Quview, geometries can be viewed based on layers, designs, and nets. You may generate 3D views of an area of the geometry, and view planars, and conformal dielectrics, as semi-transparent shapes in the 3D views. You may also view selected shapes, generate cross-section views, or use the mini map view.

Connectivity Checker is a netlist comparison utility to check the connectivity of the Quantus output netlist against the incoming LVS netlist data. When activated, Connectivity Checker invokes the Pegasus, or PVS N V N utility, that stands for Netlist-Versus-Netlist comparison. The N V N utility in Quantus reads the output of Quantus and checks the connectivity against the incoming netlist from all LVS-type inputs.
