What Is In-Design Pegasus Signoff Verify Design (SVD)?

In the advanced node designs, as the physical dimension of devices and interconnect are shrinking, the design rules are growing in count and complexity. Since design verification and testing take a major chunk of the time spent in the product development process, any saving here is a grace. 

In the traditional signoff checking, violations such as Design Rule Checking (DRC), Layout Versus Schematic (LVS), and Electrical Rule Checking (ERC) are accumulated over the Innovus implementation stages. Signoff checks, which run late in the design cycle, tend to prop up surprises and lead to multiple iterations of debugging, fixing, and validation cycles.

In-design Pegasus Signoff Verify Design (SVD) integrates Pegasus Signoff and Pegasus SmartVerify with Innovus. These checks help you maintain your designs' DRC and LVS clean through the design cycle and help you achieve zero DRC and zero shorts out of Innovus, thus saving overall development time.

Signoff Verify Design Features

Signoff Verify Design Suite

Pegasus Signoff Verify Design suite consists of:

1. Signoff DRC: Configurable signoff checking at every design stage.
2. SmartVerify LVS: Fast (~10x) short and open checking and debugging. Uses the signoff LVS deck.
3. SmartVerify DRC: Early dirty design handling.

Innovus Integrated Signoff Closure with Pegasus Verification

Pegasus SVD is integrated with Innovus and helps in performing various checks at each step resulting in cleaner DRC and shorts. This flow provides the flexibility of using either inbuilt switches or configure custom switches to run subsets of rule checks at different stages.
