Start Your Engines: The Blog-o-Meter Check

2 Jul 2020 • 2 minute read

Video

Cadence® Spectre® AMS Designer is a high-performance mixed-signal simulation system. The ability to use multiple engines and drive from a variety of platforms enables you to "rev up" your mixed-signal design verification and take the checkered flag in the race to the market. The Start Your Engines! blog series will provide you with tips and insights to help you tune up your simulation performance and accelerate down the road to productivity.

Let’s shift the gear to neutral and pause to check the “blog-o-meter” and see how far we’ve traveled together since we started those engines! Going through this blog is highly recommended if you happen to be a new subscriber or have recently noticed a blog posted in this series.

This blog tells you about the knowledge that has been shared via the “Start Your Engines!” blog series from the time we started it back in April this year. So, without further ado, here’s the list of the five blogs that we’ve posted till now:

  • Start Your Engines: Spectre AMS Designer Flex—Take your Pick!
Introduces Spectre AMS Designer flex mode and its benefits.
  • Start Your Engines: Spectre AMS Designer Flex – Your Instant Access to Latest Spectre Features!
Covers information on how you can access the flex mode of Spectre AMS Designer using the Virtuoso ADE Product Suite's GUI as well as the command line.
  • Start Your Engines: The Why and How of Generating Spectre Netlists for Analog Blocks Using UNL
Explains how you can use the AMS Unified Netlister to generate netlist in the Spectre format that can be beneficial for mixed-signal simulations.
  • Start Your Engines: Exporting Spectre AMS UNL IP for Reuse in the Digital Functional Verification Flow
Talks about the Virtuoso AMS IP export reuse flow that seamlessly passes verified design blocks between the analog and digital verification teams.
  • Start Your Engines: Using CLIPS to Generate Portable Virtuoso IP for SoC Verification
Gives an overview of how CLIPS streamlines the importing of mixed-signal/analog IP from the Virtuoso ADE Product Suite to the command-line-based system-level simulation.

This is just the beginning of this blogging journey; many more interesting reads are lined-up to be published. Are you subscribed to this blog series yet? If not, I'd recommend that you subscribe to get notifications on the publishing of new blogs in this series.

We will be posting the “blog-o-meter reading” at regular intervals to ensure that you don’t miss anything.
