Sigrity and Systems Analysis 2021.1 HF1 Release Now Available

13 Apr 2021 • 4 minute read

The Sigrity and Systems Analysis (SIGRITY/SYSANLS) 2021.1 HF1 release is now available for download at Cadence Downloads. For the list of CCRs fixed in the 2021.1 HF1 release, see the README.txt file in the installation hierarchy.

SIGRITY/SYSANLS 2021.1 HF1

Here is a list of some of the key updates in the SIGRITY/SYSANLS 2021.1 HF1 release. For more details about these and all the other new and enhanced features introduced in this release, see What's New in Cadence Sigrity and Systems Analysis 2021.1.

Systems Analysis 2021.1 HF1

Clarity 3D Solver

  • Support for Running the Simulation on a Cloud Server: Clarity 3D Workbench and Clarity 3D Layout now enable you to run the simulations on a cloud server. Cloud simulation allows you to use the low-cost machine resources on cloud using the Cadence Cloud platform. Cadence Cloud provides high performance and accuracy while solving complex 3D structures that would otherwise require massive servers to run the simulation.
  • Auto Resume Option Added: A new option, Auto Resume, has been added in the Setup dialog box of Clarity 3D Layout and Set up Computer Resources dialog box in Clarity 3D Workbench. When you select this option, both Clarity 3D Workbench and Clarity 3D Layout automatically make three attempts to restart the simulation, if the simulation fails due to any reason.
  • DC Refinement Option Added: Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench now support the DC Refinement option that enables you to improve the mesh accuracy at low frequency points. However, it may generate a slightly denser mesh.
  • New Mesh Refinement Option Added: A new option, Improve mesh quality during mesh refinement, has been added in Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench that checks the mesh quality in the mesh refinement process and adjusts the mesh if the quality is not good.
  • Option to Handle Long Transmission Lines Added: A new option, Improve accuracy for long transmission line scenario, has been added in both Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench. The option enables you to handle the scenarios where the transmission lines are long (longer than 10 wavelengths) and the default settings do not provide accurate TDR results.

For detailed information, refer to Clarity 3D Layout User Guide and Clarity 3D Workbench User Guide on the Cadence Support portal.

Celsius Thermal Solver

  • External Heat Sink Enhancements: In the Solid Objects Simulation for Layered Structures module, you can now specify the rotation angle for the heat sink. Thus, instead of using the rotation angle of the component as the default angle, you can specify a different rotation angle for the heat sink. With this option, you can study the effect of heat sink’s orientation on its performance.
  • Simplified Model Enhancements: In this release, when you generate the simplified CFD model of a design in Solid Objects Simulation for Layered Structures module, the probing nodes information and the Voltus Thermal Model (VTM) information is written to the generated file. When you import this model file in the Celsius Fluid Flow Simulation module, this information is automatically imported in the Celsius Fluid Flow Simulation module.
  • 2D and 3D Probe Enhancements: Earlier, Celsius supported 2D probes only on rectangles and not on 3D solid objects. With this release, you can define 2D probes on the faces of 3D solid objects as well.
  • ECXML Export Enhancements: When exporting the currently active design from Celsius Fluid Flow Simulation in the ECXML format, you can now:
    • Export all simplified solid types, except Other, Non Rectangular Object, and LeadFrame.
    • Export cylinders created in Celsius Fluid Flow Simulation.
    • Export flow resistance properties, such as Porosity and Coefficient to other non-Cadence tools.

For detailed information, refer to Celsius Thermal Solver User Guide on the Cadence Support portal.
