    Hello ASGer,

Looking at your issue indeed it seems OpenGL version is right.

What you could try doing is at the root of the installation of omnis5.2 there is a opengl32.dll file present. Could you try to copy it under the bin directory. (omnis5.2/bin)

Then try to run the software and let me know how it goes for you.

    Regards

    Judy

    Hi Maxi,

In the command prompt go to the location  of your omnis5.2 installation and just run the command mentioned. I did a local installation on myside for you to refer to. The location of your installation will be different.

You can also go to the location of your installation from File explorer and on the location bar on top type " cmd " to open the command prompt form that location and then run the mentioned command.

    Thanks & Regards

    Hello Anuhya,

Just to be sure, when you click on the omnis5.2 icon on the desktop the gui does not start instead the Notepad++ opens?

    Few things we could try:

    1. Please try to double click on the omnis5.2 icon on desktop or double click on omnis.vbs file in the installation folder. (do not open in Notepad++)

    2. In windows, Click the Start button, and then search for Run and click Run. Enter the path for the omnis.vbs file

Ex: "C:\Users\XX\AppData\Local\NUMECA Software\OMNIS 5.2\omnis.vbs" (For you the location might be different based on your installation)

Click on OK to see if the gui tries to start.

Did you try to open the application as per the suggestion mentioned in above using command prompt omnisClient.bat -noOpenGLCheck

Let me know how it goes.

    Thanks & Regards

    Judy

    Hello Judy,

Yes when I try to open Omnis5.2 icon through desktop a notepad++ file opens.

I tried the command omnisClient.bat -noOpenGLCheck in command prompt and I could open the application.

As you suggested I tried to open the omnis.vbs file by double clicking but again the Notepad++ is opening. I tried to change the name after that it is asking select app to open the .vbs file.

I even tried the second option i.e. to open it through run but it's giving this error

Because of this issue I haven't closed application which I opened using the command prompt.

Please let me know how to solve this problem, so that I can continue working on the exercises and software.

    With regards,

    Anuhya

    Hello Anuhya,

This is mostly a configuration difference on your side.

Please check with the "Open With" Option.

    1. Right Click on the script file.
    2. Click on 'Properties'
    3. In General tab, If 'Open With' options shows 'Notepad' then please change it to "Microsoft Windows Based Script Host"
    4. And now you can see your txt file working as a vbs file.

Make sure that it shows "Microsoft Windows Based Script Host" and not Notepad++.

     Thanks & Regards
