Magnetic Permeability and Dielectric Constant of Metals - The Permalloy case study

Hello to everybody.

I am trying to simulate with a student of my classroom some Permalloy planar structures at microwave frequencies.

The Permalloy is a metal alloy having its own magnetic permeability and conductivity.

When I define it as a new material in the AXIEM environment, the magnetic permeability is not considered (the menu is grey in the window dedicated to metal material properties definition) and I can modify only the conductivity, while if a define it as a "dielectric" material, all is possible, but with limitations in the value I can use for conductivity (since it is understood that I would like to simulate a non-metal).

Have I to do something to activate this feature for metals or have I to pass to EMSIGHT or similar alternative environmental AWR definitions?

Thank you,   Romolo Marcelli

Thank you Santosh. I actually included one more metal, "Permalloy_metal," in the AXIEM environment, but it looks like I cannot modify this characteristic of the metal. What I did this morning is to change from AXIEM to Analyst, and here I can do what I need, even if I have no explanation for that... Analyst is even faster!

Thanks Romolo for sharing,  In AXIEM to modify metal characteristics update the stackup in Global definitions.  Great to know Analyst is working for your application and Analyst has conductor editable options.

    AXIEM can’t support magnetic conductors.
