Pin error

Hi,

When I click on the pin icon in the Virtuoso Schematic Editor, I get the following error:

"(SCH-1035) Cannot open cell "ipin" of view "symbol" for requested pin master."

Since I cannot add pins, I could not create symbol views of the schematics and do hierarchical design. How can I solve this problem?

Thank you for your help,

  Cenk

Cadence provides a library called "basic" in $CDS_HOME/tools/dfII/etc/cdslib. This contains the pins that are used when creating schematics and symbols. There is also a variable that specifies where these pins are located in case you want to set things up differently. You should search Sourcelink for "schPinMasters" to find out more about this. It has been so long since we set things up, I don't remember all the details.

To get up and running quickly, you should be able to add "basic" to your cds.lib from the Cadence install tree. Print out the value of schPinMasters in your CIW to see your default settings.
