MATLAB Measures in Cadence ic5.141isr131

I have cadence ic5.141isr131 installed.  When I go into the doc directory,

I can find the matlabmeasug/matlabmeasug.pdf file, and in this file, it talks

about Using MATLAB Measures in SdE.

What is SdE?

Did anyone has experience using it?

It is the "Virtuoso Specification Driven Environment" (VSDE41 on downloads.cadence.com). It was formerly known as "Aptivia", and it is an environment which is a superset of the Analog Design Environment and allows you to set up multiple testbenches, measurements, and specifications for those measurements - and is easy to test against specifications over corners and so on.

    See http://www.cadence.com/rl/Resources/datasheets/VirtuosoSpecDriven_ds.pdf

In IC61, this capability is now part of the main environment, as ADE XL: http://www.cadence.com/rl/Resources/datasheets/virtuoso_platform_XL.pdf

    Andrew

Thanks for the pointers, I see there are SKILL functions like meas_compare(),

meas_fft(), etc. in the document.  Where do I use these functions?  I try typing them

in CIW and it does not work.  Has anyone has any expreience using those measure

functions?  How about in 6.1 environment?

They won't work in the CIW because they are Matlab functions, not SKILL functions. It says this in the manual you're looking at.

They only work if used as Matlab measures in VSDE. VSDE has the ability to perform calculations using Matlab.

Similarly IC61 ADE XL has the ability to perform calculations using Matlab (although I don't think these measure functions are supported in ADE XL, but you can use the spectre toolbox for Matlab (say) to process results).

    Regards,

    Andrew.
