Paths Merge bug

marcop

 Hi all,

I know that this is not correct forum to describe this bug, but if you know right address please send it to me.

The problem happens with Cadence icfb ver. 5.10.41.500.4.67:

1) creat metal path with L shape (  |__  )

2) copy it with horizontal shifting (to have two overlapped L shape:  |__|__)

3) select all and apply merge operation

The result will be  |____ and not   |__|__

If you change the horizontal shifting, the result could be correct, to have the bug the end of first path has to be place on the middle of second path.

If this description is not clear, I could send a snapshot.

Is this bug kwown?

Which Cadence version resolve this bug?

Thanks

Marco

I suspect it must have been a bug which is subsequently been fixed. I checked it in the latest ISR, and it worked correctly for me.

From a quick bit of searching, I found a description of a similar bug which was fixed in  5.10.41.500.4.76 (this was fixed in February 2007).

So I suggest you use a more recent IC5141 subversion.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
