Configuring Cadence

 Dear All,

I just finishing the installation of Cadence ISR 2009 05 IC 5141  lnx 86. I used installScape for both installation and initial configuration. During the configuration, when the system asked for :

Prepare libraries for AMS Designer:

1) Add an IUS installation directory to path

2) Quit

I picked up option 2 since no matter which path that I chose, it will not let me to pass.

Later, when the system ask for configuring Steam Manager, I picked up N.

After that, I saw a screen stating OK for all the modules of configuration. Now my question is: what else shall I do so that I can type "icfb &" and start running the software for the design. Can anyone post some sample files such as .cshrc, CDS.lib etc?

THank you very much

     Hi,

you just have to create the softlink "tools" inside the install directory (ln -s tools.lnx86 tools), define the location of the license file (setenv CDS_LIC_FILE port@licserver for network licenses in c-shells) and add the path "installDir/tools/bin" to the path variable (set path = (installDir/tools/bin $path)).

    Then it should work :).

    Kind regards

    haikom

There are some (rather elderly) sample user files in <ICinstDir>/tools/dfII/cdsuser (do an ls -al). Once you've got the path sorted as above, you should be able to run "cdsdoc" to look at the documentation and get more details.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
