Weird Layout Problem

Hello, I have an unusual layout problem. I made a layout using virtuoso that includes pcells and metal traces connecting them. Very simple. Next day, I run virtuoso again to find that my layout has blown up by a factor of two. Not the pcells, though, but all the metal traces, and position of the traces and the pcells, are multiplied by two. I am attaching pictures showing what the layout looked like before and after. I included ruler bars for reference. It's the not the pcells that are shrinking but everything else that is enlarging. What do you think might be causing this weird problem? Is there some sort of a multiplier? One observation is that the axes are not visible in the blown out version. I can't think of anything I did that might have caused this problem. I might have played with the grid (Virtuoso->Options->Display->Grid controls), but that shouldn't change anything. Thanks, Emre Karagozler

     Hi Emre,

Is it possible that the DBUperUU setting was changed for the library, and perhaps the PCells come from a different library?  That might explain why the scaling only seems to apply to the "level 0" data but not the cell instances?

I'm not sure if you're using IC61x or IC5141, the former uses OpenAccess (OA) and has a SKILL function techGetDBUPerUU, the latter is done through properties on the library (I think, though there might be other places it could be set).

I hope that this might help you.

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
