Cadence IC 6.1.3 licensing issues

Hi Nik,

The most likely scenario is that you have not had your licenses updated to the IC61X products; there was a revamp of the products in IC61 to introduce tiers. The license you have seen that works is the Framework license ("111") which has existed for years.

So you'll need to contact your Cadence Account Manager (or whoever you get the licenses from) to request an upgrade to the new products. This is normally a fairly straightforward process, and the new product licenses will also work in older versions (IC5141 USR4 and later).

 I did manage to open Cadence IC 6.1.3 once, and then after restarting it I saw this licensing issue

Please note that I am the only one using Cadence license in our site

Just to confirm that you are indeed holding ver6.1 licenses, you might want to do more checking using the following cmd:

unix>lmdiag -c port@serverName licenseFeature

E.g.
unix>lmdiag -c 5280@abc Virtuoso_Layout_Suite_L
unix>lmdiag -c 5280@abc Virtuoso_Layout_Suite_XL
unix>lmdiag -c 5280@abc Virtuoso_Layout_Suite_GXL
unix>lmdiag -c 5280@abc Virtuoso_Schematic_Editor_L
unix>lmdiag -c 5280@abc Virtuoso_Schematic_Editor_XL

Output should be of version 6.1 similar to the following:
