MMSIM72 feature codes changed?

 Hi,

I just updated to MMSIM72 and my colleague and I can not perform simulations using spectre, it is waiting to obtain a license. We do not have this problem in MMSIM71 running at the same time. Do I need to generate a new license file? Please advise.

Thanks,

Tarek

Just to clarify, there are more than enough licenses available in the pool. MMSIM72 is not waiting for MMSIM71 to checkin the license.

Users of Virtuoso_Spectre:  (Total of 300 licenses issued;  Total of 4 licenses in use)

Users of Virtuoso_Spectre_GXL_MMSIM_Lk:  (Total of 1800 licenses issued;  Total of 0 licenses in use)

Users of Virtuoso_Spectre_RF:  (Total of 300 licenses issued;  Total of 1 license in use)

    Hi Tarek,

Each new major release of software checks (usually) for a newer version number in the license file. So MMSIM70 looks for 7.0, MMSIM71 looks for 7.1 and (you guessed it) MMSIM72 looks for 7.2. So the product feature names remain the same, but the license version is increased.

If you're on maintenance, then updating your license file to a newer version is straightforward. I've not checked where it is on the new Cadence Online Support site, but on the old Sourcelink site there was an "Order Software" or "Update Software" link at the top. Under this you could specify that you wanted to update your license file to a newer release. This would trigger the generation of an updated license file, which should solve the problem.

Unfortunately I can't check the support site as I'm only connected from a smartphone and the browser is a bit limited (not so "smart" then!)

    Regards,

    Andrew

    Hi Andrew,

My admin just checked Cadence Online Support and the Licensing section of the main "Software Update" page only gave the email address for North American support. Anyways we've contacted them and hopefully they will get back to us soon.

    Thanks,

    Tarek
