ADE-L asking for license when using "schematic menus"

 Hi,

When I choose to use "schematic menus" instead of "simulation window" in ADE-L, every time I want to plot a waveform (when ViVA is closed) I get the following prompt:

License Virtuoso_Visualization_Analysis_XL not available. Would you like to run with Analog_Design_Environment_L license?

This doesn't happen when I use "simulation window".  It's very annoying as there is no "Always" option as there is when checking out higher tiered licenses. Any workaround other than not using "schematic menus"?

I'm using  sub-version  IC6.1.4.485

Thanks,

Tarek

    Hi Tarek,

Looks like a bug. It shouldn't be checking for this license in IC614 anyway, so it's probably an oversight. Very few people use the schematic menus-based interface with ADE L.

In my case it didn't prompt me, but that may be due to how I filtered the license; I'll do some more experiments on Monday and file a CCR.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Tarek,

I filed a CCR,  744432, to get the licensing behaviour in "menus" mode fixed.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Tarek,

    This should workaround the problem:

    envSetVal("wavescan.application" "VIVALicenseCheckoutOrder" 'string "ADE,VIVA")

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Worked perfectly, I added it to my .cdsenv (in correct syntax, of course) and I am no longer asked to check out the ADE license in "menus" mode

    Thanks,.

Not sure why my reply wasn't posted a few days ago, said it needed a moderator to approve it...

Anyways I added that code to .cdsenv (in correct syntax of course) and it worked. Thanks Andrew.
