    Hi Satya,

Why do you need to? If you start using a particular tool, it will check out a license. If you stop using it, it should check the license in. You can also check out a license using the Options->License form (although there is no longer the ability to force a checkin from here - it was being abused, and the right thing to do is for the tool to free up the license when  you're no longer using the capability; if you force a license checkin whilst still using the tool, it can cause issues).

If you want licenses to be freed up when they are idle, look at the TIMEOUT options that can be set in the license daemon (covered in the Licensing manual).

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew ,

I'm not use to work with  "$CDSHOME/share/license/options" .

I have read the documentation about licencing but I don't understand how I can use this file

Please , Could you let me how i can use it ?

Maybe with a specific declaration of the feature in Licence file ?

    Thanks in advance .

    Best Regards,

This is pretty clearly described in the licensing documentation. In your Cadence installation, under <ICinstDir>/doc/license/license.pdf

Look in the section "Managing Licenses" in the "How to Configure Licensing" chapter. It describes the syntax of the file,  and then how to update the DAEMON line in the license file to reference the options file. There's even a sample in the installation, in <instDir>/share/license/options.sample

So not really sure what I can say that is not covered better in the documentation? Perhaps you didn't read that document?

    Andrew.
