Spice Macro Models

Hi, Can anybody help me to understand What is SPICE Macro Model? Any reading materials would be appreciated. Is it possible to simulate using Virtuoso Spectre/Hspice simulator to model Diode characteristics.?

     Hi, did you manage to use spice macro-model with virtuoso/spectre ??

    You can instantiate spice macromodels (essentially spice netlists) in spectre.  If you are using the Analog Design Environment, the following Solution explains how.
