Connecting dummy transistors

When I use Modgen to add dummy devices to the edges of a matched transistor array, I get an options window (appropriately called "Dummy Options") which has options to choose the dummy type and the net to which the dummy should be connected. I assume that this means that the gate and source of the dummy will be connected to whichever net I choose here, so for NMOS dummies I choose "vss". However, when I subsequently use the device in Layout, the dummy's gate and source are connected to the drain of its neighbour, and not to the net I just selected (vss).

So how can I choose which net to connect the dummy to, if it's not the option in the Dummy Options dialogue?

    Hi Grover

I found a CCR which describes wrong connectivity for modgen dummies. It was fixed in IC614. It might (or might not be related to your problem). Actually I am not aware of any way to change the net of a dummy. Perhaps it can be done through a skillscript but I doubt that it would be easy. Sorry to suggest this again but I really think that going for IC614 would be an easier alternative. If it does not solve your problem, then it would be good if you can send in a testcase to the local Cadence support. : )

    Best regards
