CMX Error

I received the following errors when I opened the autolayout view of amodule. Does anyone know about it?

CMX ERROR: constraint [lxVcpBoundary0]: invalid pin name [CTL7<0>|CTL7<0>]

CMX ERROR: constraint [lxVcpBoundary0]: members not resolved

I checked the pin CTL7<0> and cannot find the name as reported.

    Hi ts

You can try to resolve the error by removing the constraints that have been added to the cellview. The contraint manager can be accessed from ciw under "Tools->Constraint Manager".

Quek, I can find the constraint insdie the CM as you said, but I cannot remove it. It returns with message "Read-only constraints will not be deleted"  Do you know how to fix it?

    Hi TS

Would you please try and see if the following works? I found this workaround but has not verified it.

    1) Open your design which have such CMX ERROR messages.

    2) Using "Create-> Pin" function to create temporary shape pins named "<pin name>"
    anywhere in your layout view.

    3) Invoke "Place-> Pin Placement" function. And then arbitrarily set a pin placement
constraint for "<pin name>" pin, ex choose the Edge as "Top" and then just
press "Apply" to write this constraint in memory.
It's very possible the pin name will be "<pin name>.1" or something like this
in Pin Placement form. You better remember where the pin will be placed because you will delete them later.

    4) Save your layout but still don't close it.
    5) Delete the pin -- "<pin name>".
    6) Save the layout view again.

    7) Reopen the layout to verify whether the CMX ERROR messages gone.
<Note> To avoid the problem, it may be better to copy (to new name) and
delete (old) instead of rename. Deleting pins updates CMX constraints correctly.

For your information, the cmx errors can be ignored as they are harmless.

    Best regards
