deleting simple mosaics with skill

I'm looping though layout instances and deleting vias that point to the wrong techfie. I'm using dbDeleteObject( d_object) to delete these via's.   Everything was working smoothly until I ran across a layout that uses simple mosaics.

 I get this warning message:

*WARNING* You can't delete the mosaicInst in the simple mosaic.

So my question is;

           how do you delete the mosaicInst in a simple mosaic?

Thanks

    You need to iterate over cv~>mosaics and delete the mosaic itself. Don't try to delete the mosaicInst objects because these are just referenced from the mosaics - if you were allowed to delete the mosaicInst objects it would render the mosaic itself inconsistent (a mosaicInst is one of the things instantiated within a mosaic; in a simple mosaic there is only ever one type of cell instantiated within the mosaic; with complex mosaics, as produced by the end-of-lifed Structure Compiler tool, you could have multiple cells - and hence multiple mosaicInsts).

    Regards,

    Andrew
