VirtuosoGXL layout editor crash during usual working process

 Hi All,

Recently I have faced Virtuoso GXL(IC6.1.3.500.10) layout editor crash. Actually, I have not done any extraordinary things with it.

After reopening the tool is working normally until the next crash.

Can you please explain what can be the cause of such an issue and how it can be solved?

This is the most frightening message in CDS.log file:

*WARNING* hiiSubEnterEventShell: caught unknown C++ exception.

Error: Received an unexpected exception: Illegal element.

Thanks in Advance,

Shushanik

    Hi Shushanik,

Please contact Cadence Customer Support. Then we can analyse the complete log file, which will give more information. I found a few other CCRs with reports of these functions and similar errors, but more information could help to narrow it down.

It's quite likely it has already been fixed in a later subversion of IC613 or IC614.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
