    Hi Amir

If you really have to use an unsupported OS, I would advise you to try centos 5.1. It is highly compatible to Redhat Enterprise which is our officially supported OS.  But if you would still like to try Ubuntu, you can do the setup as follows:

    a. Go to Cadence downloads website and download linux CD images of IC614-501 and IC610 base release from "IC610" link
    b. Uncompress the tar files and go into the "CDROM1" directory
    c. Start installation using "./SETUP.SH" cmd

I think you can follow the on-screen prompts from there. You will be asked to provide a directory for installscape. Installscape is a tool to download and install Cadence software. You can use it for the next software update.

    Best regards
    Quek

Are you installing 32bit IC610 on 64bit OS? I had this problem recently and that was the cause, you should install x86_64 tools. If not, follow steps in this post to install correct package:

Or you could install a _supported_ OS. If you use one of these other distributions, you are running on something untested by Cadence.

    Hi

For the libelf.so.1 error, you should be able to resolve it if you install "elfutils-libelf" rpm. : )

    Best regards
