the sample library in dfII

hi,there

i have added the rfLib library which located in $CDS/tools/dfII/samples/artist directory to the ic5141 usr6 through library manager.

But when i add the balun_com instance to the schematic, and start the simulation in the ADE,it gives the error message as below:

ERROR: Netlister: unable to descend into any of the views defined in the view list: "spectre cmos_sch cmos.sch schematic veriloga ahdl" for instance I4 in cell test_pre.

Either add one of these views to: Library: rfLib Cell: balun_com or modify the view list to contain an existing view.

End netlisting Apr 10 16:10:18 2010

why does this occur?

BTW,where can i find the manuals about the libraries(i.e,rfLib,analogLib....) including in the ic5141? Coz there are many functions of instances i dont know about them.

    Hi minci

Does your balun_com cell has a "veriloga" view? What version of spectre are you using?

    terminal>spectre -W

You can find out more about analogLib cells at $CDSHOME/doc/analoglibref/analoglibref.pdf

You can also read the veriloga codes for the cells to understand how they work. In case you are not aware, the following 2 libraries are also quite useful:

    DEFINE ahdlLib $CDSHOME/tools/dfII/samples/artist/ahdlLib
    DEFINE bmslib $CDSHOME/tools/dfII/samples/artist/bmslib

    Best regards
