Assura QRC exclude nets

We also now suspect that the Rpar IS being excluded but the Cpar is not.

Your observation is correct. For "Excluded nets" mode, R, L and K will not be extracted for the listed nets but C will still be extracted. This is also explained in QRC user guide.

There is no need to modify the settings of QRCFS. QRC FS (field solver) can give highly accurate capacitance extraction for critical nets at the expense of much longer runtimes. To use QRCFS, there should be a file named "rcxfs.dat" in your QRC tech directory.

 Hi Quek, thanks for your feedback. Yes i have now read the manual (the first thing i always suggest to others is read the manual), so sorry for the silly q's.

The option that might help us is selected nets proper. Given the schematic in question is not huge its easy to select say 2/3 of the nets that we want to extract....i tried this and the netlist looks correct with only the R&C for the chosen nets present.

I've not yet tried excluded nets proper but that might be the option we go for in bigger cells where its more practical to deselect 4-5 nets such that they are not extracted.

 I don't know if this forum still be active, but I want explain a problem I have with the option Excluded Nets.

I make a lot of big extract with option Selected Net. the selection of net is build from various skill I made to catch the list of all schematics nets (including hierarchical notation), then I reduce the list of net with some regular expressions in order to produce the exact list of net I want to extract. This flow works fine, and I can handle big simulation with/without power supplies, static commands, etc...

I want to extend this flow with the option Excluded Net, but I'm in face to a big problem since the long time. the extract view created with list of net to exclude is correct EXCEPT for the substrate node. In my design the substrate node (general PTAP connection) is named "gnds" and I always get the extracted view. The only way to not have it in the extraction with Excluded Net option is to use the switch in tab "Extraction" Name Space -> Layout Name. But in that case all the other net that I want to exclude seem to be unrecognized by QRC because I get it in the extracted view.

Does anyone know this problem?
