No Menus in Virtuoso (Cadence 6)

When I switched to Cadence 6, I cannot see any menus in Virtuoso Layout editor (i.e. the "File", "Edit", ..etc). I only get the "Launch" and "Calibre" menus.

Is it a known problem? Any solution for that?

Thanks

Do you by any chance have $ASSURAHOME set and pointing to an installation of ASSURA intended for IC5141? If so, you'll need to install ASSURA (e.g. ASSURA41) for IC613 or IC614 (depending on which you're using) or if not using ASSURA, then do an "unsetenv ASSURAHOME" before launching virtuoso.

If it's not this, then maybe you have some incompatible menu customization loaded. Check "cdswhich menus" to see if any menus directories are found. Also check in the CIW (and CDS.log) for any error messages when you open the layout window.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

     Thanks a lot

    It was actually the ASSURAHOME.

    Thanks again!

     Hi,

I am using Cadence 6.1.4 with ams Hit-Kit4.01. I want to have assura pulldown menu in virtuoso so I can do DRC but I don't know to do it. How shouls I proceed? I have a assura folder under Hit-Kit directory so I assume that assura has been installed.

    Thanks,

    Mikail

Firstly, you should read the forum rules. Specifically:
    • Create your own thread. Do not post on the end of another person's thread, especially when it has been dormant for some time. It's better to create a new thread and reference the earlier thread.

This is a bad assumption. Check in your EDA tool folder that the version of assura specified by your PDK's DRC/LVS release notes is installed.
