assura LVS error

Dear All,

I am running LVS with the following softwares:

ic5.1.41 for schematic,  Virtuoso XL Layout, and assura 32 with the sub-version of 3.2_USR2_HF7.

With no DRC errors, I tried to run Assura->Run LVS and here is the error message:

*******************************************************

error: outFile() - No Such Layer 'metal 6_dummy'

if you want assura to ignore missing layers set the avParamter ?ignoreMissingOutLayer to t

*******************************************************

The same error message repeated for metal 5 to metal 1 as well. Can anyone tell me how to set the parameter please? thanks.

    Hi tester

outFile generates an output DFII layout or gds file from the specified lvs layers. In your case, an outFile cmd has been specified to output lvs layer "metal 6_dummy" but this layer cannot be found in the extract rules file. "lvs layer" means the layer names used in the extract rules file. I see a spacing in the layer name between "metal" and "6". Looks like the error is due to this typo. Perhaps you can remove the spacing and retry.

If there is no special need to output any layers, you can disable outfile cmd as follows:

In "avParameters", set ?outputErrorLib option as "Skip outFile Commands".

I think the outFile cmds have most probably been added through an include file from the foundry. You can simply do an egrep in the rules file directory and make the necessary modifications.

    linux>egrep -r "outFile" /your-path/myRulesFileDirectory

    Best regards
    Quek
