Parasitic extraction query

shankarp

I have my design with layout that goes down to some 20 hiearchies. I want to extract parasitics for my layout in the top level and don't want to extract a module which is down in side 10th hierarchy and attach another view to it for simulation. How do I accomplish this. I have both Assura and Calibre tool for parasitic extraction.

 Thanks in advance

    Hi shankarp

Perhaps you can do a hierarchical extraction using QRC. Then create a config view using hierarchical editor and select the desired views for the cells. QRC is the parasitic extractor, Assura is for drc/lvs. We no longer use the old tool Assura rcx for parasitic extraction.

In short, here are the steps:
    a. Run Assura lvs with ?preserveCells option
    b. Run hierarchical QRC
    c. Create a config view using hierarchy editor

    Best regards
    Quek
