How to interpret (monte carlo simulation)?

Hi,

Monte Carlo simulation is unseccessful because of an error:

0 t nil ("*Error* ilGetInt: arg must be fixnum" nil))

I found a solution on the internet :

------------------------------------------------
Trap: Autoplot fails, even if sim completes normally

Don't you just love these error messages:

Monte Carlo Simulation completed successfully...

*Error* request.il asiiFinish: error in finish function ("ilGetInt"

0 t nil ("*Error* ilGetInt: arg must be fixnum" nil))

Simulation appears to be hung!!!

Solution: Problem was in the specification of Swept Parameter on the main form. Items in the list of values should be separated by spaces not commas. Click 'Simulation - Stop' to recover.

----------------------------------------------

How shall I interpret it. Where can I find "Swept Parameter on the main form", which main form?

Kind Regards,

 pitter

Assuming it's IC5X you're using (it really helps if you can say which version you're using, because the UI is quite different from IC61X), then it's on the Tools->Monte Carlo form. You have the ability to vary a parameter on this form - e.g. temperature by specifying a list of values. The issue was that you needed to space separate these values rather than comma separate them. As far as I can tell, the fix occurred many releases ago, so that's probably not it.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi,

It is IC61X version. To run MC simulation I use ADE XL, because there is no such option as 'Tools -> Monte Carlo...' in ADE L window what is actually a different problem.

Which IC61 release is it though? (Help->About... in the CIW will give the exact subversion)

And I'm assuming you're using the "monte carlo sampling" run mode in ADE XL?

    Regards,

    Andrew.

I have run into this same issue: At the very beginning of simulation, I get the error \e *Error* ilGetInt: arg must be fixnum - nil. I am using virtuoso version 1c6.1.2.500.5 and attempting to simulate a fairly simple custom circuit.Thanks.

Determining a strange error message in a long unsupported of the tools is pretty much impossible (that error is a fairly generic error message, and won't pinpoint the real problem). The version you are using is over 7 years old, and since then we have had IC613, IC614 IC615 and IC616 major releases.

Please use something more recent that is actually supported!

    Kind Regards,

    Andrew.
