Using ADE design variable from Calculator

Hello all,

Is it possible to use a design variable (one that is going to change with a parametric analysis, for example) within a calculator expression ?

 In particular, I am thinking of varying the period of some signal in my circuit and integrating along one or many periods, hence my requirement that the calculator knows the period of the said signal.

Any idea ?

Thank you,

Guillaume Simard

    Hi Guillaume,

    Yes,  you should be able to use the VAR function, for example VAR(t_variable-name [t_dataDir]).

    I think that this is what you want?  Alternatively you can also use the desVar() OCEAN function but you may need to combine this with other functions to convert the string value into a number, e.g.

     desVar("myRes" "1k") => "1k"
     desVar("myRes") => "1k"
     cdfParseFloatString( desVar("myRes") ) => 1000.0

    I hope that this helps you.

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
