corner analysis in ATE-XL, Virtuoso 6.1.0. Spetre model has no section.

Hello, everyone,

I need help on how to run corner analysis for model files that do not have any section in ADE-XL, Virtuoso 6.1.0. Typically, a model file for corner analysis should have seperate corner parameters into different sections. However, for the tech I am designing with, there is no seperation, which makes it really confusing on how to specify the corners. Please kindly give me some hint if you have experience upon this matter.

BTW, I did try some method I got from edaboard. I see some switch in 'design.scs', named fixed_cor_sw. I made a copy of this model file and modified the value of the switch and included the file in my simulation. However, this seems not working either. There is still simply no section like 'tt', 'ss', etc selectable. The only options I have in ADE-XL's corner setup form is 'Whole_File' and 'Exclude_File'.

Thank you very much!

First of all, which version are you really using (do Help->About in the CIW and give the exact subversion).

The current IC61 version is IC614 (latest hotfix is IC6.1.4.500.5, ISR5). I've not gone back and checked in IC610 itself, but certainly over the last few update versions (last couple of years at least) you can add a model file without a section.

It all depends on what you want to vary in each corner. You could choose to include different model files in each corner, or you could reference the same model file, and change some variables and temperature.

You don't have to use sections in the model files to do this. Did you try reading the documentation? Have you attended any ADE XL training?

    Regards,

    Andrew.
