How to activate Mark Net utility in virtuoso IC6.1.3.500.18 version?

Hi All,

Does anyone aware of how can I activate Mark  Net utility in virtuoso IC6.1.3? When I am trying Connectivity-Nets-Mark

I receive the following message:

leHiMarkNet: metal layers or via layers are not specified in the techLib

Can someone advice what should be added in techfile? I did not find anything informative in Cadence 6.1.3 docs.

Thanks in Advance,

Shushanik

    Hi Shushanik

For IC61x, you need to have a viaDef section in your section. This consists of standard/custom vias. Please see the following section in layout L user guide ($CDSHOME/doc/vlehelp/vlehelp.pdf). I have copied the info here for your convenience:

Your technology file must list the interconnect layers in the viaDefs section of the technology file to determine interconnecting layers. If it does not, Mark Net does not work. Via definitions consist of two types of vias: customViaDefs and standardViaDefs. For more information about via definitions, see the Virtuoso Technology Data ASCII Files Reference for Via Definitions and Via Specifications. The Virtuoso Technology Data User Guide describes how to create and edit a technology file.

    Best regards
    Quek
