ADEXL Default Job Policy Error

To Whom it May Concern:

I am currently trying to set a default job policy in cadence's ADEXL. I tried to do this by putting the following line in my .cdsenv file:

 adexl.icrpStartup       defaultJobPolicy        string  "./.cadence/jobpolicy/ADE_XL_Default"

Note how I have not included .jp in the filename per the instructions in the help file. When I open my adexl cellview, I get the following error:

ERROR (ADEXL-1936): Could not find the default job policy named ./.cadence/jobpolicy/ADE_XL_Default
Verify that a job policy has been created with this name and that the job policy
file is readable under <DIR>/.cadence/jobpolicy/<job policy name>.jp, where the list
of directories searched for .cadence is specified in the setup.loc file.
The directories can be retrieved by using the command 'cdswhich -all .cadence'
Reverting to the ADE XL default policy, unless another policy has been overlaid

To try and debug this, I type 'cdswhich -all .cadence' into the command line and I get the following:

Info (cdswhich): '.cadence' found at:
        ./.cadence
        /home/jorankin/.cadence
        /tools/cds-6.1.3.13/tools/dfII/local/.cadence

I see that the above command did return my ./.cadence location, so it should look in .cadence/jobpolicy/ for my .jp file. But it's not finding it for some reason. Can you help me? Is my syntax incorrect for the adexl.icrpStartup environment variable setting?

This error is cumbersome, as it shows up for every run in corner sims if I don't coment the above adexl.icrpStartup  ... line out  in my .cdsenv file.

Thanks,

John

    John,

The defaultJobPolicy cdsenv setting should be set to the name of the policy, not the path to the file.

In other words, set it to "ADE_XL_Default". The location will be found by the CSF (aka "setup.loc") mechanism - it will look in .cadence/jobpolicy in various locations.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Andrew,

Just to be clear, I tested this by typing the following in the CIW:

    envSetVal( "adexl.icrpStartup" "defaultJobPolicy" 'string "ADE_XL_Default" )

This worked. Thanks for your help!

    John
