Layout missing menu bar items

Ayman Amin

Dear all,

I'm using Cadence IC6.1. When I open the layout editor only three menu items are present (Lanuch, Calibre and PDK). I can do the layout, DRC,LVS and XRC are all OK. Shortcuts work fine as well, but I can't do other layout jobs, for example flatten a cell, because the menu item is missing.

When I look at the  CDS.log window, I find the following:

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

*Error* eval: unbound variable - vuiVerifyMenu
<<< Stack Trace >>>
(... in _leGetAssuraMenu ...)
(... in leMenuTrigger ...)
(... in _deApplyTrigger ...)
(... in unknown ...)
funobj@0xf2fe2d4()
(... in _dePullTrigger ...)
(... in _deCallMenuTrigger ...)
(... in _deMakeBannerMenus ...)
(... in _dePostOpenProcess ...)
(... in _deOpen ...)
(... in deOpen ...)
(... in ddsServOpen ...)
ddsServOpen("kit_test" "Inv1" "layout" "edit" nil)
(... in ddsEditCB ...)
ddsEditCB("kit_test" "Inv1" "layout")
*WARNING* A Skill error occurred in function leMenuTrigger

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Any Ideas how to resolve this issue ?

    Hi,

It looks to me as though there is a user trigger (either a menu trigger
or a post-install trigger) that is causing the failure (involving the
variable "vuiVerifyMenu", and I assume that this is part of the PDK.

Have you contacted the PDK provider?
Have you tried starting the tools without the PDK/customization?

    Regards,
    Lawrence.

Please check the version of your Assura installation. I've seen things like this happen when users

try to run IC6  (OA) with a CDB-Assura release.  There are different releases of Assura for CDB or OA.

For testing remove Assura from your path and unset ASSURAHOME.

    Regards,

    Marc

Thanks Marc it did work... I just changed the ASSURAHOME env variable to point to  somewhere else and all the menus are back.

    Really thanks for your help

    Regards
