Which node is controlling the timestep?

I have seen versions of spice that will give you (for each time point) the node that set the timestep - essentially telling you where to invest your macromodeling effort to speed up simulation.

Is there any way to get such information from spectre?

    Hi Danke

I do not know of any such options for spectre. If you are experiencing a time step collaspe issue (time step gets smaller and smaller and simulation seems to have hang), perhaps you can try the following:

    a. Is it due to local truncation error?
    - Set lteratio=1e9
    - If it solves the problem, you might want to try using another integration method (e.g. gear2)

    b. Is it a convergence issue?
     - Try adjusting cmin and gmin to see if it helps

    c. You can also try enabling diagnostic option in "Simulation->Options->Analog" to see if you can get useful info. Can also use infotimes option to get the circuit op info at the transient times which have the problem.

As always, do testing using the latest version of spectre. It might be a tool problem that has already been resolved.

    Best regards
