How to use variables inside vpwlf file

Hi all,

i need some help with vpwl source.

I want to use parameters inside file.

Usually for vpwl i use syntax like

1e-9 1

2e-9 2

But now I need to parametrise points. THe time and voltage need to be parameters.

I tryed to write file kile

t1 v1

t2 v2

But when I trying to simulate i getting error:

Error found by spectre during initial setup.

ERROR (CMI-2197): Waveform file 'ramp.pwl' is empty.

So, what is correct syntax to create file for vpwlf with parameters?

Thanks a lot.

This is not supported currently. There's an enhancement CCR, 5681, asking for this. I suggest you contact customer support and request an enhancement, then a duplicate can be filed, increasing the visibility of this request.

You can do it if you don't specify them in a file - so if you use the coeffs parameter (or use the vsource or vpwl source and enter the parameters directly. If they are expressions, you may need to surround them in parentheses. But inside a file, they need to be pure numbers (currently).

    Regards,

    Andrew.

Just a follow-up to help others that are looking for the same thing.

    Quoted from the CCR Page

"CCR 5681 has been filed for this issue.   This issue is fixed in MMSIM 12.1.1.isr14 and first release of 13.1."

There are some hints in the CCR on how to use the functionality.
