ADE-L waveform calculator automatically selects another sim directory

Hi All,

I have this curious problem while analyzing data from a simulation run. I select the appropriate run directory using the results browser, then select the waveform of interest and start to manipulate it using the Calculator. Now, all of a sudden, the calculator has selcted another simulation run directory which I did not actually want and of course complains that the signals of interest are not there in the results! I have to close the additional run directory in my browser, reselect the original one, and then repeat the process.

Sometimes, the same problem occurs again. Why does the results browser select some directory all on its own?

Thanks for your comments,

Vivek

The message about the runObj file is benign, but the issue is that ADE L is designed to access the results from ADE, not the results from arbitrary places. So doing things in ADE will automatically set the results browser to point to the place where it expects to find the results. It would be rather annoying for an ADE user if it didn't.

If you just want to access the results from some other directory structure, you can obviously open them, but ADE will reset back to the default location when  you do various things in ADE.

You could always just open the results using "viva" standalone, or even just launching the results browser from the Tools menu in the CIW. However, if ADE is running, ADE will be in control. There's only ever a single results browser, so the current directory gets switched by the active ADE session.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
