OA version

Hi,

I tried to install PyCell Kit with Cadence Virtuoso, and it said that I had to find the cadence installation of OpenAccess first.

I don't know how to check the version of OA I used right now, and I cannot find the path $CDS_INST_DIR/share/oa.

The platform version is IC5.10.41-USR5.90.69.

Could anyone help me ?

 Thanks in advance!

    Hi Lei,

IC5141 is not on OpenAccess, it is using CDB for the database - I assume that this is why you are unable to get this to work.  You would need to use the IC614 release in order to get a supported version of the tools that operate on OA (there are earlier releases of IC61x but it does not make sense to use one of these, and I don't even know if they would work with the kit).

I would like to point out that Cadence cannot support PyCells, so if you were to get into any difficulty or needed support, you would have to go to the PyCell vendor CiraNova.  For example, any data containing PyCells cannot be accepted by Cadence support or R&D for investigation or assistance.  There would not be any such issue if you were using SKILL based PCells.

Hopefully this helps (and hopefully you will consider SKILL PCells too).

    Regards,

    Lawrence.
