abstract generation

 Hi,

I am using cadence abstract generator versionn 5.1.0. While I generate lef file, the whole process runs smoothly and I get a lef file. But when I used that lef file in SOC encounter, I noted that the pin placement of the cells were not preserved. I want pins of the cells to be exactly at same position where I placed in the layout but due to some reason abstract generator is putting the pins along the same net but at random positions. How can I control pin placement?

Regards,

    Hi Affaq,

Are the pins getting created at the texted locations? How is the layout being imported into the abstract generator? Is this through File->Import->Stream?

In 6.1, the abstract generator can directly read the layout views created by 6.1.x Virtuoso.

But in 5.1, Abstract generator does not read the 5.1.x Virtuoso layout directly & therefore does not directly read the pins created from 5.1.x Virtuoso. Instead it makes use of text attributes & overlapping shapes to identify pins & pin locations.

    Please refer to the http://support.cadence.com/wps/PA_DocumentViewer/pubs/abstract/abstract5.1.41/abstractTOC.html

for detailed information for the abstract generator.

    Regards,

    Vikram
