Hard to reproduce Assura LVS failure

Zach

I really appreciate the help on my last thread about ext91.  Here I'm having another tough issue to resolve.  Using Assura 4.1 for a specific PDK, I always get an error when running LVS.  From the log file:

  Starting dfIIToVdb...
@(#)$CDS: dfIIToVdb_64 version av4.1:Production:dfII5.1.41-64b:5.10.41-64b.500.6.139 07/08/2010 18:17 (sfsol25) $
sub-version 4.1_USR1_HF10, integ signature 2010-07-07-0307

Compiling rules...

ERROR Text can't attach to layer: substrate is not connected.
WARNING LVS Run detected.
Non-legacy mode has been disabled for this LVS run
WARNING Errors exist in rules file so this program cannot continue.
Errors exist in the rules file '<>/extract32.rul'.

*****  dfIIToVdb terminated abnormally  *****

The PDK supports this Assura version, however, the fab says they don't have this problem.  We run Solaris10 which the fab supports but doesn't actually have in-house.  I'm almost certain the problem is specific to our SUN installation.  Can anyone advise how to resolve this issue?  Thanks.

    Hi Zach

If you are currently using ?pinTextFile cmd, would you please disable it and see if lvs can run successfully? I am trying to determine where the error message is coming from.

    Best regards
    Quek
