How to add off-chip elements to an av_extracted netlist?

How can I insert what will be an off-chip inductance into my av_extracted netlist, and still simulate within ADE?  I know that I could edit the netlist and simulate from the command line, but want to stay within ADE.  Do I have to back-annotate to the schematic and place inductors there?  Thanks.

    Zach,

Why do you need to add into into the av_extracted view (I assume you meant view rather than netlist)? Normally the flow would be to have a testbench, with an instance of your design - and then use either the hierarchy editor to create a config, or to use the switch view list (from Setup->Environment in the Analog Design Environment) to switch into your av_extracted view. Your schematic testbench can then include any additional components you like.

Alternatively, if simulating directly from the extracted view, you could specify a "stimulus file" (say), which adds additional components (sources, loads etc) to nets within your design (your av_extracted view in this case).

    Best Regards,

    Andrew.

Thanks Andrew.  I haven't needed to back-annotate for quite some time but had to for a recent chip.  The last time I did this it was supported with MSPS in the Assura menu.  I've researched and learned about the hierarchy editor and the config view, but the method is proving to be complicated.  No need to reply or invest any time; I'll figure it out.  Regards, Zach.
