Hi Friends,

I am running monte-carlo simulation to characterize noise margin of SRAM cell at low VDD voltage values.

Some how I am getting this error,

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Error found by spectre during circuit read in

Error found in protected block by Virtuoso (R) Sprectre (R) during circuit read in

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am not able to figure out whats wrong. Please can any one help !!!!

Thanks in advance

Nick

    Hi Friends,

I figured out the solution. Sorry for flooding the forum ... it was a silly mistake ...

while doing monte carlo in IC5141 it is essential to define sigma variable ...

just define a new variable called sigma and give a value of 3 and it works fine ....

Hope my mistake saves some one else time ...

    regards

    Hi Nick,

Although this is almost certainly specific to the models you were using - they must use sigma as a parameter inside the models, and presumably inside a protected (encrypted) block. You don't get much in the way of detailed errors in such circumstances, because otherwise people could force errors and use that to reveal information about what is inside the protected block.

BTW, it's best just to post to the forum, rather than sending me private messages as well. I'm not usually any more likely to reply if you do that (if anything it may have the opposite effect!) - plus the fact that by posting to the forum there are others that (hopefully!) may reply.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
