Spectre Turbo Mode - Not Using Multithreading

With turbo mode disabled, I can see that the Spectre process uses 200% or more.  However, when turbo mode is enabled it uses about 60%, never more than 100%.

I have Spectre version 7.1.0.031.  There is no turbo mode setting in my ADE so I enable it by putting "+turbo" in the userCmdLineOption in the Environment Options.  When simulating with turbo mode enabled, I do get the message "Multithreading Enabled" in the output log, but as I said the CPU usage is below 100% even for large simulations.  I have tried writing "+turbo +mt=4" in the userCmdLineOption to explicitly enable multithreading but it makes no difference.

If anyone has any suggestions I would appreciate it.  Just a note, upgrading to a newer version is usually a good thing to try, but there is a tapeout looming so we will not be making software changes for a while. I'm looking for a solution that will work with the currently installed software.

     Andrew,

Something odd going on here. I'm not sure why spectre should use more than 100% if not enabling turbo or APS. Have you done something else to enable APS (e.g. the userCmdLineOption field on setup->environment) or maybe have turned on the multithreading options in Simulation->Options->Analog (although I wouldn't expect the utilization to be as high as that if this is used)?

Anyway, I think it would make most sense to create  service request via http://support.cadence.com so this can be properly investigated.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
