How to achieve "trace cursor" command in ocean

bobbygang

Hello,

I'm new to cadence. I often want to note the value of result on graph during ocean simulation, but I don't know the command. Furthermore, I 'm about to know where can I find the plot command list just as modifying wave colour or modifying front ?

Any help will be much appreciated.

I met some difficulty. I have two questions.

1.How can I use ocean to add the label which displayed the curve point axis, just like trace cursor function?

2.How can I use ocean to change the curve color of the plotted graph

    Regards

    Bobbygang

I'm afraid I couldn't understand your first question.

For the second, you ought to be able to use the awvPlotWaveform function (search in the documentation) which has a ?color argument.

    Best Regards,

    Andrew.

Sorry I made a mistake. What I want to say is "trace marker" instead of  "trace cursor". I mean that I want to mark the coordinates of the points I need on the output graph

Can you use the addWaveLabel() function to achieve what you want? If not, why not?

    Best Regards,

    Andrew.

Thank you very much. I use "addWaveLabel" or "awvPlaceWaveformLabel" function and now I can mark the graph. But it's strange that the results are same and had no error after I modify the arguments of the function

    For example, the result of

    addWaveformLabel( window(1) 1l ist(3 3.5) "Input" ?textOffset '(0 20) ?color "y30" ?justify "lowerCenter" ?fontStyle "roman" ?height 10 ?orient "R90" )

    and

    addWaveformLabel( window(1) 1l ist(3 3.5) "Input" ?textOffset '(0 0) ?color "y50" ?justify "lowerCenter" ?fontStyle "stick" ?height 30 ?orient "R0" )

    are same

Is there any mistake or requirement?

    Best Regards,

    Bobbygang

I've not checked, but my guess is that some of the arguments don't do anything dependent on which waveform tool you're using. Not sure you said which you were using, or which version (don't really have time to check all possibilities, sorry).

Thank you. I will tri it agian. I use wavescan and ADE version is 5.1.

Moreover, I want to know where can I get the reference of default set of ADE or wavescan. For example, I want to know which color "y22" means for ?color argument.

The last, is the effect of  "envSetVal()" function permanent or temporary? If it is permanent how can I restore default set?

With AWD, the color is taken from y0-y9 (in the tech file). For anything above 10, it will use modulus 10 to choose the color (y0-y9) and then the tens digit is used to cycle through the line styles (e.g. dashes etc).

With wavescan as the graph tool, it appears to ignore the color and the textOffset. You might want to log a service request to get this fixed (in IC615, say; it won't be fixed in IC5141 since the release is too old).

envSetVal() is not permanent. It only changes the environment for the current session until icfb exits.

    Regards,

    Andrew.
