How to Install Cadence IC design tool on CentOS5.1 in WMware workstation

 Hello everybody!

 I am actually a new beginner on using these kind of IC design tools.I have already installed WMware workstation on my Windows XP operating system & then installed CentOS 5.1 on WMware.NOW my main problem is knowing how to and from where i should  start using Cadence IC design tool.should i install any other program or software??

Please guide me step by step AND VERY CLEARLY!I already told that i am a new beginner on this!

    CentOS is not a supported OS, for a start. If you install installscape from downloads, and unpack it, there's a manual in the docs directory within the installation.

    Otherwise contact your support channel - that's the best way to ensure that somebody works you through how to install the software.

     Hi,

     

    Andrew is right. But I myself do not like to use "non-free" OSes. So, I installed it on Debian. Here is a thorough manual for installing Cadence IC 6.10 on an Ubuntu machine:

    I believe that you will not find much difference on using CentOS. One difference is that the package installer in CentOS is yum while it is apt-get in Ubuntu/Debian.
