*WARNING* Unable to find the icon "new-file.png"

Hello,

We have just installed the IC6.15 version. When we start with "virtuoso" cammand we receive this log in CDS.log:

\w *WARNING* Unable to find the icon "new-file.png"
\w *WARNING* Unable to find the icon "file-open.png"
\w *WARNING* Unable to find the icon "file-open-with.png"
...

\w *WARNING* Unable to find the icon "check-green.png"
\w *WARNING* Unable to find the icon "delete.png"
\w *WARNING* Unable to find the icon "exclamation.png"

We can find these png images in

IC615/tools.lnx86/catena/ui/
IC615/share/cdssetup/icons/24x24/

Would you mind telling us what is the problem?

Thank you in advance

Regards

Guillermo

    Hi Guillermo,

I can't find any reports on this, but I had a guess as to what it might be, and can reproduce the problem.

You probably have a "setup.loc" file defined which does not contain the line:

     $(compute:THIS_TOOL_INST_ROOT)/share   Cadence Default Setup Info

because of this it will not find the icons in the standard installation. You can locate your setup.loc files using "cdswhich setup.loc" at the UNIX command line, or "cdswhich -all setup.loc" .

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hellow Andrew.

    Thank you for your help.

Cadence documentation says that this file must be placed in:

your_install_dir/share/local --> We have not this "local" directory.

    or

your_install_dir/share/cdssetup/setup.loc --> We have this file but seems that Cadence is not taken it into account.

I place this last file to my working directory and it fixes the problem.

Do you think we mist some configuration step when we installed IC6.15?

    Best regards

    Guillermo

    Guillermo,

Did you try the "cdswhich" command I suggested?

Do you have $CDS_SITE set - if so, is there a setup.loc in that directory?

The setup.loc in <instdir>/share/cdssetup is probably being ignored because there is one with higher precedence that is obscuring it.

This is not a configuration step issue.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

"cdswith setup.loc" reports that it founds the file at my working directory. If I remove this setup.loc file, reports that there are not such a file.

I have not $CDS_SITE variable set.

In the tools nemu of the "Virtuoso analog design envoronment" I can not find the Corner tool that was there in IC5 releases.

    Any advice?

Thank you for your patience and your help

    Best regards

    Guillermo

That's very odd - not sure why it is not finding the one in the installation. I would suggest you log a service request to follow this up.

The Corners tool is now part of ADE XL (previously it was a licensed add on to ADE - now called ADE L) and is much more powerful than it was previously.

    Regards,

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Can you point me to the SR for this issue? One of our designers started experiencing this problem today. It's only happening with his login account but I can't find anything in the environment that is causing the issue.

    Thanks,

    Tarek

    Tarek,

I don't seen any service request that has been reported on this. The only CCRs on this that I can find suggest that the setup.loc has been altered to remove the entry I mentioned.

    Andrew.

    Hi Andrew,

Thanks for checking. The issue was resolved in our case by deleting the ~/.kde and ~/.gnome* directories for the user.

    Best,

    Tarek
