viaStackSelection

In .cdsenv the command:

     layout  viaStackSelection  boolean nil

does not work.

CIW gives me this message:

*WARNING* envSetVal: Can't set the value of variable 'viaStackSelection',

in tool[.parttion] 'layout' - it has not been registered.

Somebody has an idea what 's wrong ?

Thanks.

    Hi Henri,

The setting is not for the tool "layout" but for "graphic:

      graphic viaStackSelection boolean nil

There are some viaStack* prefix variables for the layout tool, however:

      layout viaStackRows int 1
    layout viaStackColumns int 1
    layout viaStackMode cyclic "sameFootPrint"

The above settings can be found in your installation hierarchy at <cds_root>/tools/dfII/etc/tools/layout/.cdsenv (or substitute "graphic" for "layout" to see the graphic variables, and so on for other tools)

    Hope this helps!

    Lawrence.

    Hi Lawrence,

The Cadence help is showing "layout" for this variable.

    They must be wrong.

It is working now with "graphic".

    Thanks a lot.

    Henri

     Hi Henri,

I searched in COS for "viaStackSelection" and I only see a match for it in the IC615 documentation, and this correctly shows the variable for "graphic" - if I see a mistake in cdnshelp I will file a bug report against it, but I think that COS uses the same documentation source as the tools, so I would only to expect to find a mistake in an older release (say IC615 First Customer Shipment version) since COS does not have an error (which may mean there was a mistake which then got fixed in an ISR).

However, I am glad that it this is now working for you, and I am happy to have helped.

    Best regards,
    Lawrence.
