Diva extraction warnings on large layout

Zach

I'm running Diva extraction using 64-bit layout (5.1.41) on a very large 0.5u layout.  The job has been running for almost 90 hours and has consumed about 10GB of memory.  I had hoped it would finish over the weekend, however, it contiues to run and now I am seeing these warnings in the log file (which is now 1.3GB in size!)

\w *WARNING* A cellview's size has reached internal upper limit and cannot be further extended
\w *WARNING* invalid figure -- 0(unknown)

I have more memory and can afford to let this keep running, but are these warnings indicative that the job will never finish or not finish successfully?  Thanks.

    Zach,

Most likely it means that the results will be incorrect. There is a maximum size for a single cellView in CDB - this doesn't get bigger even if in 64bit mode - it's a consequence of how the database is stored on disk. I think the max size is 2Gbytes or something like that. Since this is probably due to you generating a lot of flat output data, the only solution is probably not to output all that data, or do it in an OA-enabled release.

    Regards,

    Andrew
