Find the location of a variable location

My schematic is quite large, I need to find the location of an element that's associated with a variable of interest (could be for a resistor or for a capacitor). From Find there is no option to find a variable location. Thanks.

     Hi,

If you mean "design variable" (as in that set up and perhaps modified by the simulation environment) then there is a "Find" button in ADE for locating the instance(s) which use the selected design variable.  There are ways to search for things like this using SKILL, but I think that we'd be re-inventing the wheel here since it is built-in to the tool.  I hope that this helps, or perhaps I has misunderstood the issue?

    Regards,

    Lawrence.

Hi Lawrence, Thanks for the quick reply. I actually could not find "design variable" in "Find", which locates in Edit --> Search. Within "Find...", I have these: insName, netName, pinName, master, libName, cellName, fontStyle, fontHeight, orient, net expression, netSet name, netSet value, partName, phy PartName, power, refDes, technology, simMonitor, other. Please let me know. Thank you. Art

You're using the wrong Find. The Find button is on the Variables->Edit form in ADE.

    Andrew.
