Intrinsic Capacitance

Hi All, I have a question here about the intrinsic capacitance of the transistor in the schematic. I have a simple amplifier, say common source for example, in the schematic, what I want to do now is to check the value of the capacitance at each node, like Cgd, Cdb, etc. So what I did is to run a transient analysis first, and then choose Results --- Print --- Transient Operating Points, then click on the transistor I want to see. There's a results display window shows a lot of parameters according to that transistor. Here is the doubt part. All the capacitance values are negative in the table. Also, it shows for example, cgs and csg, they are both negative and have different values. I'm not sure why this happened. Is there a way to find the exact definition of all these parameters shown in this table? There is another question here. When I choose the transient analysis, I go to options --- Misc --- click captab, and run the transient simulation. I could see a capacitance table for all the nodes to ground. I'm not sure about the meaning of variable, fixed value here, though I would use total value. Also, what's the difference between those two ways to see the intrinsic capacitance of the transistor? Thank you in advance. Best, Cooktime

This has come up before, so please go to Community->Search and search for "Negative Capacitance" and you'll see some posts dealing with this.

    Andrew.
