Managing simulation and other folders, IC6.14

The way how we have the software setup is:

we have cadence folder inside user home directory and inside that cadence folder are the startup and environmental settings for cadence, associated with specific kit, whose folder is located within cadence folder as well. And then we just invoke csh shell, cd to the cadence folder, and start virtuoso.

I noticed that the simulation data is being stored in /home/user/simulation folder.

And that is not what i want, i cannot find a way of having everything needed within a cadence folder  located in the user home folder.

Another reason for that is, we plan to use sometimes external drive because simulation and other data is really huge. And for that, i would like to have a one folder - cadence. And then start the virtuoso on the PC from that folder, but...i want all the simulation etc stored within that cadence folder.

where are the settings for that?

In ADE, Setup>Simulator/Directory/Host. To set a default directory for every time you invoke virtuoso, edit your .cdsinit with

    envSetVal("asimenv.startup" "projectDir" 'string "<yourpath>")
