Hierarchical copy of top cell

Dear all,

I have a problem performing a hierarchical copy of my top cell.

My top cell has a quite complex hierarchy coming from 4 different libraries and I would like to create one single library self-referenced.

However, when I try the copy, some of the cells are not correct (for example the schematic and symbol are copied, but not the layout view).

How is it possible? Is there a reason for that behaviour?

Thanks a lot,
Stefano

    Hi Stefano

    In the cell copy form, did you ensure that "layout" is one of the views to be copied or did you enabled the "Copy all views" option?

    Best regards

    Stefano,

    You probably need to give more details on exactly how you're setting up the copy...

    Andrew.

    Hi,

    1) In the window copy cell, I checked "Copy Hierarchical";

    2) In "Skip Libraries" I removed all the libraries with which I don't want to keep any reference in the new library (I left only the tech libraries, analogLib, etc..);

    3) "Exact Hierarchy" is not checked;

    4) "Copy All Views" is checked;

    5) "Update Instances": "Of Entire Library";

    6) "Add to category" is not checked.

    Thanks in advance.

    Stefano

    Hi Stefano

    Your steps look good. I think it would be best to file a service request to your local Cadence support and request for a remote debugging session. By the way, if you are using an old version of Virtuoso, it would be good to first retry the problem using the latest version.

    Best regards
